Canada Summer Jobs is a program offered through the Government of Canada.  This great program provides funding to not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees to create summer job opportunities for youth aged 15 to 30 years.  Last year, Guelph received $942,983.00 in funding to assist businesses and non-profit organizations in employing 296 students!

The application process is open from December 17th, 2018 until January 25th, 2019. The applications are available at www.servicecanada.gc.ca/csj.  I encourage you to visit their website for further details on this amazing program.

Please join me on Thursday January 17, 2019 from 8:30 am to 10:00 am at Immigrant Services, 104 Dawson Rd., #102, Guelph, for an information session with a representative from Service Canada.

This session will discuss eligibility for employers and the hiring process, tips to facilitate successful applications as well as a time for questions. Employers who have attended this session in previous years have told me how beneficial this training was for submission of the application.  Registration is required in advance.  Please call 519-837-8276 or email Lloyd.longfield@parl.gc.ca to RSVP.
