I'm pleased to bring to your attention TD Canadian Children’s Book Week, taking place May 4th to 11th and invite you to participate and join the conversation.

This annual national event celebrates Canadian children’s books and the value and importance of reading in Canada. As a nation, we are so fortunate to have so many talented and inspiring Canadian writers and illustrators like Janice Nadeau, Julie Flett and Eric Walters that create compelling novels and picture books.

Each May during Canadian Children’s Book Week, over 400 readings are given to over 28,000 children, teens and adults in roughly 175 communities across the country to reach children in more remote regions and communities. Hundreds of schools, public libraries, bookstores and community centres host events as part of this major literary festival.

Lets use our voices to ignite a culture of reading right across Canada so kids can explore, imagine and dream big; so that they can discover their passions, their interests and experience the world around us.

Visit your neighbourhood Guelph Public Library Branch and join me in celebrating Canadian Children's Book Week!
