MP Lloyd Longfield shares his intention not to seek re-election
Guelph, Ontario, June 28th, 2023
On Wednesday, Lloyd Longfield, Member of Parliament for Guelph, shared his intention that he will not stand for re-election for the 45th Canadian Federal Election. It is his intent to remain as Guelph’s Member of Parliament until the next federal election is called.
Longfield stated, “It has been the honour of my life to have served our community prior to and during my time as Guelph’s Member of Parliament. By the time of the next scheduled federal election, I will have been proud to serve as Guelph’s Member of Parliament for over 10 years.”
“I look forward to continuing to serve Guelph as the Member of Parliament for the remainder of this term while working to ensure that Guelph is effectively represented in parliament in the future. I continue to be thankful for the privilege to represent Guelph as the Member of Parliament and am even more grateful to my family for their continued support.”
Whether it be working on progressive legislation or making life more affordable for Canadians by sustainably building more homes, delivering affordable childcare for parents, cutting child poverty, or providing dental care to millions of uninsured Canadians, I continue to fully support Prime Minister Trudeau and our government’s work to move Canada forward.”
