Stay up to date with the work of the Standing Committee for Environment and Sustainable Development
April 19, 2021
I've engaged with many Guelphites over the last year about the importance of environmental protections and sustainability. As I've been saying, the fact that we are currently navigating and responding to the ongoing health emergency is no excuse to neglect the ongoing climate emergency. In saying that, I've been pleased with the recent work that our government has been doing in building on our existing environmental initiatives and the role I've been able to play in contributing to that work by sharing Guelphites feedback at the Standing Committee for Environment and Sustainable Development (ENVI).
Many Guelphites have expressed an interest in the work that happens on this committee, if you'd like to follow along you can do so at this website.
A few of the study topics that our committee has on the go right now include Single-Use Plastics, Freshwater, and Bill C-230-- An Act respecting the development of a national strategy to redress environmental racism. For more information on the current studies and published reports from the committee, you can follow this link.
Thanks for following along with the important work that happens in committee and for you environmental advocacy!
