Tax Filing Season is Open
February 11, 2021
Tax filing season is here. Some important dates that you’ll want to keep in mind this year include:
- Online tax filing opens on February 22, 2021
- Filing due date: April 30, 2021
With the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s important to keep in mind that there may be delays in the ability to file a return, slow down your assessment, or impact your ability to receive a refund, benefits or credit payments. It’s important to make sure that you are prepared and have all of your Tax slips before filing and doing so on time to avoid penalties for failing to report income.
Other important information regarding 2020 tax returns:
- If you received COVID-19 emergency or recovery benefits from the CRA in 2020, you will receive a T4A slip. You must report these amounts on your 2020 income tax and benefits return. For details, click here.
